Pegasus is a constellation in the Northern Celestial Hemisphere dominated by a square asterism of its four brightest stars. Pegasus is named for the winged horse of Greek mythology, and the square asterism makes up the body of the great horse. The constellation contains several stars and unusual deep sky objects, such as the M15 globular cluster, one of the most densely packed star clusters in the galaxy, and Einstein’s Cross, a gravitationally lensed quasar whose image appears 4 times around the outside of the galaxy directly in front of it due to the gravitational force of the galaxy bending the light from the much further away quasar.
