Peonies are bisexual flowers in the genus Paeonia, the only genus in the family Paeoniaceae. Indigenous to Asia, Europe and Western North America, the use of peonies in Japanese tattoo art was inspired by the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi's illustrations of Suikoden, a classical Chinese novel. Our delicate interpretation features an intricate setting of six 1mm stones surrounding a larger 1.5mm gem.
